Eco-contribution

Jumbo Bag informs you about the necessity of giving a second life to your furniture, bed bases, duvets and pillows.

When you wish to dispose of them, if they are in good condition, you can donate them to a social and solidarity economy organization, or resell them on the second-hand market. Otherwise, you can take them to a waste collection center. Collected in Eco-mobilier containers, they are transported to sorting centers where the materials are separated by stream (wood, mattresses, scrap metal, plastic…) to be sent for recycling and used to manufacture other products or be transformed into energy. When you purchase new furniture, you pay an eco-contribution which is used to finance the recycling of your old furniture. The eco-contribution is a contribution that is mandatorily applied to the price of each new piece of furniture. It makes it possible to finance the collection, sorting, recycling and/or recovery of used furniture. This contribution is entirely paid to Eco-mobilier, a non-profit eco-organization approved by the State. Its mission is to develop the collection of furniture, ensure their recovery at the end of life and promote reuse and reutilization.

The eco-contribution is a contribution added to the price of new furniture, paid by the consumer and paid over to Eco-mobilier.

It is used to finance the sorting, recycling and recovery of used furniture in France.

Eco-mobilier implements collection and recovery solutions in partnership with local authorities, social and solidarity economy associations (Réseau des ressourceries and Emmaüs) and furniture professionals. Thanks to this system, in 2017, Eco-mobilier collected more than 530,000 tonnes of used furniture through more than 4,000 collection points throughout France. 93% of this collected furniture was able to be recovered into new raw materials or energy.

Eco-mobilier, an eco-organization approved by the State of France and financed by the eco-contribution, aims to collect and recover used furniture by giving it a second life, by recycling it or by using it as a source of energy.
